After being held on 5 occasions in Algiers, during which time SIEE Pollutec grew to become the national reference event for the water sector, it was held for the first time in the city of Oran from 17th to 20th May in a step that marks the start of a move between various venues to reflect regional water situations.

As a major economic centre in a region that is suffering from water stress and that is having to confront industrial pollution resulting from its development, Oran more than justified its selection as the venue for the 6th SIEE Pollutec. In addition, the show was also able to take advantage of the ultra modern exhibition facilities of the new Oran Convention Centre - GCCO-PEX.

It was no surprise therefore that this first Oran event really lived up to expectations and attracted 293 exhibitors from 18 countries and 7,552 visitors (17.8% up on the 2009 show).
